Looking for a quick getaway but with limited time and short budget?

Who would have thought that there are places near the Metro where you can relax and find peace before you stress yourself in work?

Imagine yourself stuck on an island with no electricity, no internet connection, no people around the area and you are surrounded by mountains and trees. Talisayen Cove is the perfect place for that to make it a reality.

It is one of the four coves in San Antonio, Zambales namely Anawangin, Nagsasa, Talisayen, and Silanguin. Silanguin is the farthest island, you need to travel via boat for an hour and a half while Talisayen is the second farthest island with a 45-minute boat ride from the mainland.

Even though the sand is not as white as you can experience in Boracay, the serenity of the place, however, will surely make your heart go haywire. This is the perfect place to discharge yourself from the stress in work, complications with your love life, family problems, traffic in EDSA and pollution in the Metro.

When we went there last December 25, 2016,  we were alone on the island, no other tourists visited the area. When we realized that we have no one to ask for help if we need something, my friend and I started to set-up our tent. After we secured our things, we started to stroll around the island. The place was deserted which makes it magical. We started collecting woods for the night since there’s no electricity and we don’t have any flashlights.

The place is so serene, the water is temptingly clear and the waves is like a music with perfect beats to soothe your ears.

When I was in the Metro, I was so stress thinking about my workload, how to snatch a sleep and prayed that God will allow adding more hours in a day to compress all the things needed to be done.

Here in Talisayen, our problem was what to do for the whole day. Luckily, we brought our books! What a way to digest every word written in the book while sitting near the shore and admiring the view. The place is so quiet where you can just close your eyes while lying on the sand and listen to all those natural sounds the island emit.

Talisayen Cove is worth a try if you want to explore and discover new places near the Metro with limited time and budget.
